Women's Season Review PDF Print
The women's section of Morgan RFC are now coming to the end of their fourth season in existence and after three successive years of promotion they now face the unusual ground of relegation. Following the re-shuffle of the womens leagues at the start of the season, Morgan WRFC were placed in Premier 2 with two teams from the previous Premier League and the only three teams from National League 1 who had successfully beaten Morgan on their previous encounters. After losing several players at the end of last season it's been a difficult year of re-building in such a challenging league. However, the team have remained very positive and are looking forward to a slightly easier time in the National League next season, especially with the welcome return of coach Rob Hogg who will be helping Ryan out when he find himself onshore.

There are two fixtures of the season remaining, one away to Aberdeenshire Quines on the 27th of March and the final game is at home to Cartha QP on the 3rd of April.

Despite the struggles of the team the players have proved their abilities and commitment to the club and the sport with a very high standard and none more so that the trio of Sarah Bell, Sarah Hogwood and Victoria Gilmartin. Previously selected to train in the Scotland U20 squad back in November, they have been involved in what appears to be a re-building of the women's national setup. With weekly trips down to Murrayfield for training and having to attend early gym sessions at ISE, their efforts have been rewarded with being selected in the team that faced the England U20's on 12th March 2011. Despite the score (78-0), it was the first fixture this new team has been involved in against a much more experienced squad which includes many players who feature in the English Premiership. Well done to them all.
